THE SIXSTATES.net NEW ENGLAND
OUTDOOR WRITING CONTEST

CONTEST INFO & RULES:

SixStates.net presents its first-ever NEW ENGLAND OUTDOOR WRITING CONTEST. Send us your story about the New England outdoors. It can be a first-person story of you doing any sports that we cover - hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, climbing, skiing, snowboarding, surfing, etc. - or even coverage about outdoors news or the environment. As long as the story takes place IN NEW ENGLAND. You also get a long creative leash, as the story length is entirely up to you (anywhere from 400 to 4,000 words, that is).

All submissions that are nominated for our grand prize will receive $25 and be published on SixStates.net during the course of the year. The grand prize winner will receive $200. The deadline for submissions is September 1, 2010. We will announce the winner in December.

Here's the 411:

• Only original articles will be accepted.

• All story subjects must relate to New England.

• Employees of Mathers Media are ineligible.

• By entering the contest, entrant grants SixStates.net perpetual, nonexclusive rights to the article.

• Entries will be judged by a panel selected by SixStates.net, and all decisions are final.
