Tully Trail - (02.26.10) This 22-mile loop trail encircles the largely undeveloped Tully Valley in the North Quabbin Region of Central Massachusetts. Mt. Everett via Race Brook Trail - (01.15.10) At 2,602 feet, Massachusetts' Mount Everett is the highest peak in the southern Berkshires. It is home to fragile ecosystems, old-growth forest, and great views. For a strenuous, 7.2-mile roundtrip hike, take Race Brook Trail, which accesses the Appalachian Trail and passes several waterfalls before climbing the south side of Everett.

Cockaponsett State Forest - (11.24.09) Cockaponsett State Forest in Haddam, Connecticut, is the state's premier destination for mountain biking. The forest features more than 100 miles of technical mountain bike trails. Come in good shape, as many trails are challenging with difficult climbs, but rewarded with awesome fast sections.

Debsconeag Lakes Wilderness - (11.14.09) At the foot of Maine's Mount Katahdin, this paddle in a pristine wilderness features New England's highest concentration of remote ponds. Native Americans established the ancient portage paths you'll use. Choose a trip from 6 to 18 miles and anywhere from 5 hours to several days.

Mts. Whiteface & Passaconaway Loop - (11.09.09) This strenuous, 11.5-mile loop let's you knock-off two of New Hampshire's 4,000-footers. Take the Blueberry Ledge Trail to the summit of Whiteface (4,020 ft.), and then the Rollins Trail to summit Passaconaway (4,043 ft.). Head home down Dicey's Mill Trail. The loop's total elevation gain: 3,800 feet.

Deerfield Zip Line - Take a zip line canopy tour in the northern Berkshires. Deerfield Valley Canopy Tour in Massachusetts lets you zip through tunnels of green foliage in spectacular hardwood and pine forest, with great views of the Deerfield River.
