Bear Brook! Lots of fantastic single track to test your skills,
plus fast double track and roads. The venue will feature two
courses. One will be a longer and more challenging single-lap
course for experts, sports and open cruiser class. The other
course is shorter and faster for novices and open short course
class.

Curtis Universal will hold the 8th annual Connecticut River
Challenge canoe and kayak race. Flatwater races for novice to
expert paddlers. The 12-mile race, for experienced paddlers,
will include the Connecticut and Westfield Rivers. The 4-mile
race is on the Connecticut River. Both races will start and end
at the Springfield Yacht and Canoe Club on River Road in Agawam.
Both races are sanctioned by American Canoe Association and New
England Canoe and Kayak Racing Association.

Loon Mountain Race

A 5.7-mile run to the summit of Loon Mountain. The course
starts at a dirt parking area along the Pemigewasset River and
winds its way through the road/parking area to the service
trails heading up Loon Mountain. It follows a combination of
dirt trail/service roads and ski trails to the Summit Lodge at
the top of the Gondola, then works its way over and up North
Peak and back over to the top of the Gondola. This is an
ascent-only race. The race averages approximately a 10-percent
grade with some sections of more than 20 percent.

USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Championships

Mount Snow once again will host the USA Cycling Mountain
Bike National Championships in July. The best pros from all
across the country will be in the Mount Snow Valley for this
weeklong event that will crown National Champions in Super
Downhill, Cross Country, Short Track, Dual Slalom, Observed
Trials, Speed Trials, and Downhill categories. Spectators will
enjoy several activities in addition to the races, including a
festival style atmosphere, professional autograph sessions, and
more. This will be the last major race before the US Olympic
Mountain Bike Team heads to China for the Summer Olympics.

The Vermont 100 Mile Endurance Run is one of the original
100 mile runs in the USA. Each year, 300 runners attempt to
finish this hilly race over beautiful Vermont back roads and
trails under the 30 hour cutoff point, and a well-trained few
finish in under 24 hours. The course record is just under 15
hours. ALSO: New this year there is also a 100K.

individuals. Now in its 20th year, the Wildman is New England's

Two person teams will run, navigate obstacles, bike and
charge through the 60-foot mud pit to the finish. The course
will consist of 5-6 miles, with 3-5 obstacles at exchange
points, when the runner will pick up the bike, and the biker
will start to run. Each competitor will need to complete the
obstacle prior to returning to the course.

This flatwater race is on the Great Bay estuary in coastal
New Hampshire, and is a fund-raiser for the Great Bay Stewards.

points beyond will gather for our annual Labor Day weekend
Brewers Festival. Relax in our huge tent and sample the array of

natural splendor of the Mount Snow Valley. Admission includes a

it's always been a great gathering for mountain bikers. This
year will showcase some of the best trails the forest has to
offer, not-so-coincidentally built by North Shore NEMBA's trail

intermediate and advanced cross-country riders, as well as led
rides of all levels. The cost is $15 for the general public, $10
for NEMBA members, and if you join NEMBA you get to ride for
