REGIONAL

  • Northern Forest Canoe Trail - A 740-mile waterway running from Fort George, New York, winding through Vermont, Quebec and New Hampshire, and ending way up in Fort Kent, Maine.

CONNECTICUT

MAINE

  • Allagash Wilderness Waterway – This page from the L.L. Bean park search site has info on the 92-mile waterway - a string of ponds, lakes and streams in Maine's North Woods.

  • Maine Island Trail System - An epic 325-mile stretching from Casco Bay to Machias Bay, with more than 135 islands and mainland sites available for day visits or camping.

MASSACHUSETTS

  • Connecticut River Greenway - One of the state's newest parks, the greenway connects open spaces, parks, scenic vistas, and archeological and historical sites along the river as it passes through the state. There are more than 12 miles of protected shoreline and a number of access points.

NEW HAMPSHIRE

  • Connecticut River Recreation - Info on paddling the upper Connecticut River. Includes 13 maps showing 70 boat launches and canoe/kayak access site in NH and VT.

RHODE ISLAND

  • Kayaking Narragansett Bay - A site on kayaking in Narragansett Bay by Ed Mullen, who was the first person to kayak the entire 250 mile coastline of Narragansett Bay, including all 15 islands, and circumnavigate Block Island in a 10' Walden Paddler.

VERMONT

  • Connecticut River Recreation - Info on paddling the upper Connecticut River. Includes 13 maps showing 70 boat launches and canoe/kayak access site in NH and VT.
