ABOUT US

Welcome to SixStates.net, the online magazine for New England outdoor adventure. No place in North America has the diversity of outdoor adventure opportunities that we enjoy in New England. Here you can kayak Maine's coastal islands, run whitewater rapids, trek the White Mountains, ski the northern peaks, mountain bike the hills of Vermont, surf Block Island, or just chill on one of Cape Cod’s sandy beaches. New England offers everyone the chance to experience virtually any outdoor sport, and all within a day’s drive. To that end, SixStates.net is dedicated to covering the activities, people, sports and news of the New England outdoors.

On this website you’ll find feature stories that inspire New Englanders to take up their own adventures. We have news stories and profiles about issues, people and organizations that impact the region’s recreation and environment. If you are interested in writing for us, check out our contributor’s guidelines.

Besides our stories, our links pages are the most comprehensive directory of New England adventure and travel websites in cyberspace. And our Events calendar is the largest collection of New England outdoor happenings around.

We want to hear from you. If you have ideas for the site, want to contribute a story, have questions or just want to tell us how we’re doing, drop us an e-mail at editors@sixstates.net. We look forward to your feedback.

Cheers,

Dan Mathers
