Clinton Campaign Visits Cranmore

Presidential Hopeful Hillary Clinton Talks With Voters At New Hampshire's Cranmore Mountain.

Democratic Presidential Contender Senator Hillary Clinton visited Cranmore Mountain in North Conway, New Hampshire, on Thursday for a roundtable discussion with 10 undecided voters. The discussion covered topics ranging from alternative fuels, health care and foreign policy. Clinton invited Cranmore GM Ben Wilcox and Operations Director Jim Mersereau to join in the discussion and to share the resort’s experience in converting their grooming fleet to biodiesel in 2003.

Cranmore officials said they were selected for the honor of hosting the candidate’s first visit to Carroll County based on its long-standing commitment to the use of biodiesel fuel and other green initiatives.

Clinton arrived at Cranmore the morning of November 8 and was escorted into the Eating House past some of the resort’s energy-efficient snow guns and bio-fuel burning Bombardier grooming vehicles. The round-table meeting took place in the rustic ski lodge surrounded by the 70-year-old ski area’s vintage signs depicting the Skimobile lift and the Hannes Schneider Ski School.

The candidate was treated to Cranmore’s hospitality, being served hot cocoa with whipped cream from hand-crafted mugs provided by the local coffeehouse, The Metropolitan. Clinton received a gift from Cranmore consisting of one of the mugs, a Cranmore fleece, made locally by Chuck Roast of North Conway, a copy of the new Cranmore North Conway magazine and a pair of Cranmore Season Passes; one each for Hillary and Bill Clinton.
