Movie Time Northeast ski and snowboard filmmakers Meathead Films and I
Heart Snow Productions release their newest flicks.
The calendar might
say there's another two-and-a-half months before ski resorts start
opening, but for people looking to scratch their ski- or snowboard-itch,
they just need to grab some popcorn and head to the movie theater.
Two of New England's
top winter sports filmmakers are now releasing their newest flicks to
powder-loving audiences around the Northeast. Snowboarding movie-makers
I Heart Snow Productions
have released their newest film Back East, profiling top
snowboarders who have strayed from the norm of moving west to stay in
the Northeast. And next month, ski kings Meathead Films will
release their newest film, Head For The Hills.
According to I
Heart's Ian Post, Back East was filmed mostly in Vermont and New
Hampshire, at resorts such as Loon, Okemo, Stratton and Stowe. And
Mother Nature cooperated with the film crew throughout the season,
dumping snow early and often and continuing late into the spring. "We
were able to snowboard up until May 24 or so," said Post, "which allowed
us to get some more spring filming in."
Meanwhile, the
Meatheads' Head For The Hills will premier at the International Freeski
Film Festival in Montreal on September 12 before embarking on a 60-city
tour. For info on dates and locations, check out their site at www.meatheadfilms.com.
